Max2Docs
SAIC
SAIC’s Max2Docs empowers asset managers with seamless access to the appropriate versions of all controlled documentation associated with their resources. Whether it’s a technical illustration of a repair process or the usage history of a fleet of vehicles, Max2Docs puts reliable and relevant information immediately into the hands of busy asset managers.
Max2Docs provides this seamless access to managed information through an automated integration of EMC Documentum repositories and IBM Maximo asset management. Max2Docs extends the Documentum content management platform to provide seamless linkage between items in any Maximo application to related documentation managed in Documentum. The configurable interface provides users with the added benefit of real-time configuration management between these applications. In other words, Max2Docs keeps the correct documentation for managed corporate assets readily available for all personnel. Max2Docs interface can be directly integrated into any EMC Documentum Web application including: Webtop, Digital Asset Manager and Compliance Manager.
Documentum Users
Max2Docs runs within the Documentum web client interface. Documentum users will continue to have all of the standard capabilities allowed by their security permissions. Based on the each site’s business rules, as new documents are added and revised, the integration will automatically update the Maximo document library. In addition, users have the ability to link documents to information within Maximo, such as Assets, Operating Locations, Work Orders, etc that are document-control-enabled by the Maximo system administrator(s). Maximo modules that are document-control-enabled will be dynamically available for linking within the interface.
Maximo Users
Maximo users have the capability to view, edit, and print document content in Documentum, based on their Documentum security permissions, and are able to manage links from documents to any document-control-enabled application inside of Maximo. The integration runs completely inside of the Attached Documents module of Maximo. The off-the-shelf functionality of Maximo is not modified, and the users can perform all of the same functions inside of Maximo that were previously available to them, based on their user permissions. This robust Max2Docs solution provides an intelligent, cross-application interface to shared content and information between Documentum and Maximo without having to customize either system. With Max2Docs, the Documentum interface dynamically responds to changes in Maximo structure. The query screen is context sensitive, and integration is driven by a business rules engine that clients can optimize to their own operation.
